Definition of Confidence

 noun

con·â€‹fi·â€‹dence | \ ˈkän-fÉ™-dÉ™n(t)s  , -ËŒden(t)s \

1a: a feeling or consciousness of one's powers or of reliance on one's circumstances

This is the definition of confidence that opens The Confidence Talk (TM) because it recognizes that with confidence there is a component that is all about you and the other which is whether or not you can rely on your circumstances or environment.  The Confidence Talk(TM) recognizes that your confidence can be affected by what is happening around you even when you come into those circumstances feeling powerful.

In the work environment or as the face or your business, it may look like speaking up less or questioning the value of your contribution.  It may be that you doubt even your proven skills and abilities and consider shying away from opportunities as a result. You may experience a dissonance - a disconnect between what you are hearing and what you are experiencing.  Whatever the source and however it presents you find your confidence shaken and dwindling. This realization that your confidence has taken a blow represents a time to reflect and rebuild – you are not alone in this experience.
